Safer Business Network is proud to be part of Our Safer City in The City of London.

Together, we have been introducing a series of initiatives under Prevent VAWG and domestic abuse, and this week saw the launch of our latest Safe Haven at 1 Lombard Street.

Our Westminster team organised an incredible Pubwatch meeting for licensed venues in the West End this week. A total of 75 individuals attended the meeting, which was fantastic to see. It's great to have so many venues coming together from London's most vibrant nighttime economy areas.

Last month, the second Bromley Retail Crime Working Group took place, chaired by Superintendent Luke Baldock, to discuss updates on previous actions. A huge amount of work and effort has gone into building Criminal Behaviour Orders for the most prolific offenders with the aim of reducing crime in the area.

We were delighted to host delegates from the police forces of Colombia and Chile at Safer Business Network today. It was an honour to welcome our guests to London to demonstrate our collaboration with our partners and share best public safety and security practices.

After extensive collaboration with the Metropolitan Police and our members, we're delighted to share that our most notorious shoplifter has been issued a 10-year Criminal Behavioural Order.

A hugely significant moment for retailers and those working to fight retail crime as the Prime Minister announces a standalone offence of assaulting a retail staff member to combat the frightening rise in violence faced every day.

At Safer Business Network, we know we make the biggest impact on communities through our partnerships with other businesses and organisations.

This is why we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Employers' Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA). As part of this partnership, we will be highlighting their free service to businesses to raise awareness of the tools they offer that support employees who are impacted by domestic abuse.

Our Safe Havens scheme, has a new major location - Guildhall in the Square Mile, London.

A young female was stopped for theft and upon checking her name, she was identified as a missing child. The police were called to help her and she was safely returned home. It reinforces that our work is not just about business crime, it is about helping keep people safe - and no one deserves to be kept safe more than children.

What a day! Yesterday was our Oxford St, Regent St and Bond St SABA in partnership with New West End Company.

Our Saba days have kicked off in full force this month and we would like to share some results with you from the two held for our Knightsbridge and Kings Road partnerships.

We are thrilled to announce today that Safer Business Network, as one of the lead project partners along with ukactive, Sport England’s This-Girl-Can campaign, Mayor of London and Metropolitan Police have joined forces to launch a pilot of the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign across 11 fitness and leisure centres in south west London.

This month’s story takes us through multiple areas of London with stops in Lewisham, Greenwich, and Waterloo where a particular individual was understood to have been involved in numerous incidents of theft.

It was wonderful to connect with our Heart of London Business Alliance members during our WAVE and Ask for Angela training session last week.

On Thursday 29 February, as part of the continuing partnership between Safer Business Network and the Mayor of London, we were able to deliver the first Women's Night Safety Summit of 2024.

Operations Director Adam Ratcliffe had the privilege of presenting to the The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) Thought Leadership Summit on our work using data and intelligence to tackle organised crime hitting retailers.
